Dear sponsors! Here is a glimpse of what your support allows us to do:

BurgerFest celebrates the “birth” or creation of the hamburger in 1885 at the Erie County Fair on the Hamburg Fairgrounds and has been held in Hamburg since 1985. Hamburg’s BurgerFest has been organized for over two decades by the Town of Hamburg Rotary Club, the Hamburg Rotary, Sunrise Club, the Town of Hamburg Lions Club and the Hamburg Kiwanis Club. These service organizations raise money in the community and use those funds to support many local, regional and international causes. Proceeds from BurgerFest provide seed money for future years and represent the largest source of funding for the service clubs in a good year. Below are summaries of the projects and activities of the

BurgerFest organizers:

• The Rotary Club of Hamburg coordinates the annual Warm the Children Program, providing new winter clothing to local children, and has provided Rotary Fields I and II at the Town of Hamburg Recreation Center on Lakeview Road. The Hamburg club continues to support food pantries and kitchens throughout Western New York through its Farms to Families Program. The club sponsors the Hamburg Little Cagers basketball league and Hamburg Junior Softball/Baseball teams. The club also participates in the Rotary International youth leadership programs including RYLA. It supports the Salvation Army, ECMC Palliative Care, Cradle Beach Camp and an annual concert in Memorial Park. The club also supports Hamburg, Frontier and St. Francis High Schools with annual scholarships, aids their booster clubs and the Hamburg Finance Academy.

• The Town of Hamburg Lions Club continues its mission to assist those with vision and hearing challenges. They provide monetary contributions to many local causes and youth service projects and provide scholarships to Town of Hamburg graduating high school seniors.

• The Kiwanis Club of Hamburg - Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers helping one child and one community at a time. Hamburg Kiwanis serves the children with Terrific Kids in Frontier and Hamburg School districts, works in partnership with the Hamburg Village Rec Department with its annual Easter egg hunt and Halloween Parade. They also assist Hamburg Holidays with Breakfast with Santa, support the Buffalo KAMP Kiwanis, Buffalo Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center. The club provides educational safety programs and works with the library on special programs. Kiwanis sponsors food and bags for FeedMore WNY and assists Hamburg Little League and the Challenger League. They are proud to be serving their communities at the local, regional, state and international levels.
